If you live locally and you love our early morning sunrise paddles, but you just don’t feel you’ve exercised enough afterwards, why not join our group of more experienced paddlers for an early morning endurance paddle around Sydney Harbour?
Instead of sitting and relaxing with a coffee in your kayak, photographing our magnificent Sydney icons, you can now drink your coffee on the go, utilising our kayak coffee cup holders and thermos coffee cups, and paddling with a bit more intensity. We’ll paddle further, faster and still have time for a catch up with our fellow paddlers.
For 5, 10 and 20 packs of sessions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and paddle for as little as $35 per session, paddling on Sydney Harbour for regular fitness.
We meet at Lavender Bay boat ramp at 6.15am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8am on Saturdays (times may vary throughout the year when the sun rises later). We do ask that you help us get the kayaks out and get yourself set up while your Guide picks up your coffees from the cafe in Kirribilli. Grab your life jacket, get yourself a paddle and set your foot pedals up, ready for a prompt departure. There’s time to catch up once on the water 😉
Coffee will arrive nice and hot, ready to hit the water for an hour of fitness paddling and socialising. (PLEASE NOTE: Saturday’s are two hours).
Upon returning to the boat ramp, we do ask that everyone helps carry the kayaks back up to the taps to be washed. Please put your life-jacket on a hanger and your coffee cup back in the carrier, so we can take them home to be washed. We then ask that two people each week, on rotation, stay back to help our Guide pack-up the kayaks. This way, you only really need to help out around once a month. Hopefully, once we’re in a good rhythm, this will only take a few minutes, but it does save our Guide a lot of time.
This endurance paddle is not suitable for beginners as we will often be paddling across busier parts of the harbour, maintaining a consistent speed within the group. It is preferable that you have been out with Sydney by Kayak before, prior to taking part in this paddle, so you know how to set your kayak up and won’t need full instruction. This is so the group can maximise their time on the water.

All equipment hire, including a single sit-inside Grifinn Kayak, paddle and life-jacket.
A qualified, friendly and experienced Kayak Guide/Instructor.
An exclusive, small group of just 10 people, including your Guide.
A pre-ordered coffee from a local café to enjoy in your kayak.
iPhone photos taken by your Guide, but not too many as this is a fitness paddle!
What to bring/wear:
Wear light, comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (from paddle splash).
Hat and sunnies are advisable.
You are likely to get wet from paddle splash, so bring spare clothes to change into.
A towel to dry off after the paddle.
Current launch location is Lavender Bay Boat Ramp. Make sure you plan how you’re going to get to the boat ramp for the scheduled arrival time.
Lavender Bay Boat Ramp is on Railway Avenue, which is at the bottom of Lavender Crescent, just under the railway arch.
