Sydney Harbour Kayak Tour

If you’d like to experience Sydney’s magnificent Harbour from the comfort of a kayak, but you’re not keen to wake up before the crack of dawn, why not head out with Sydney by Kayak a little later and enjoy a morning coffee on the calm waters of Lavender Bay, once the sun is up.

Sydney Harbour is one of the busiest and most exciting harbours in the world! The iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House look spectacular at any time of day. Especially in the mornings. Have yourself a little sleep-in and meet your Kayak Guide at a more sociable time, once the sun is up and the kayak colours are vibrant and bright in the morning sun.

As you sit and take in the serenity, you can relax in your kayak, just in front of the spectacular Sydney Harbour Bridge and enjoy a fresh, hot coffee of your choice from a local café, delivered to the boat ramp before departure.

This later morning paddle covers the beautiful foreshore of Lavender Bay and Blues Point. It’s perfect for beginners and experienced kayakers who enjoy and appreciate the iconic views that Sydney Harbour has to offer, as well as exceptionally great coffee!

The tour departs from Lavender Bay boat ramp, where you will be greeted by your Guide. They will assist in helping you get ready for the tour, including a safety briefing, life-jacket fitting and setting up your kayaks for paddling. Our Guide can absolutely capture photos of you on the tour, free of charge, but there is currently no professional photographer on this tour. Our onwater photographer, is only available on the Sunrise Tour.

The time advertised on the schedule is the time you are required to arrive at the boat ramp. You will then get ready and be out on the water for around an hour or just over. Once you are out on the water, enjoying your morning paddle, just when you think it can’t get any better.. you’ll have a fresh, hot coffee sitting inside a custom made coffee cup holder on the front of your kayak, so you can enjoy it as you take in the sights and sounds of Sydney Harbour.

You don’t need to be an experienced kayaker as our kayaks are really stable and you will be instructed and guided in a small group of just 8 paddlers, by a professional Kayak Instructor and co-guide. You will be taken through a safety briefing before departure and will be provided with all equipment needed for the paddle, including a single, glass bottom kayak with stable double keels and comfortable seats.

This is definitely one of our more leisurely kayak tours. We concentrate on the little things, such as great coffee, lots of individual, couple and group photos, plus plenty of time to float around enjoy where you are. If you’re looking for the Wow! factor, we’ve tried our best to make this one of the top things to do in Sydney! Great coffee, sunshine and iconic views from a kayak. Perfect for beginners.
