Mum’s Social Kayak and Coffee

If you’re a local mum, looking for a fun and sociable way of keeping fit, join our weekly mums paddle from Tunks Park in Northbridge, up through the calm waters of Middle Harbour, where you’ll enjoy a fresh, hot coffee from the comfort of your kayak!

As you sit and glance across the gorgeous turquoise waters of Long Bay, you can relax with other mums, knowing you are getting your fitness in for the day, whilst catching up with the girls.

This morning paddle is perfect for beginners and experienced kayakers. We paddle from Tunks Park and head around into Middle Harbour, enjoying the bays and waterways with our fresh, hot coffee in our reusable thermos coffee cups, which fit perfectly in our coffee cup holders in our kayaks (yes, I believe we have thought of everything!).

The tour departs from Tunks Park boat ramp, where you will be greeted by your Guide, who will assist in helping you get ready for the tour, including a safety briefing, life-jacket fitting and setting up your kayak for paddling.

The time advertised on the schedule is the time you are required to arrive at the boat ramp. You will then get ready and be out on the water within 15 minutes. Your Guide will assist you in getting into your kayak and will offer tips and techniques on paddling with good posture and optimal fitness.

You don’t need to be an experienced kayaker as our kayaks are really stable and you will be instructed and guided in a small group of just 9 paddlers, guided by a professional Kayak Instructor/Guide. You will be taken through a safety briefing before departure and will be provided with all equipment needed for the paddle, including a single, glass bottom kayak with stable double keels and comfortable seats.

What’s included in the tour:

All equipment hire, including a single sit-inside Grifinn Kayak, paddle and life-jacket.

A qualified, friendly and experienced Kayak Guide/Instructor.

An exclusive, small group of just 10 people, including your Guide.

Full safety briefing and kayak instruction prior to departure.

A pre-ordered coffee to enjoy in your kayak.

Photos of the kayak tour.

What to bring/wear

Wear light, comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (from paddle splash).

Hat and sunnies, plus any other sun protecting clothes.

You are likely to get wet from paddle splash, so bring spare clothes to change into.

A towel to dry off after the paddle.

Phone/camera, so you can take your own photos (our Guides will take shots, too)

Current launch location is Tunks Park Boat Ramp. Make sure you plan how you’re going to get to the boat ramp for the scheduled arrival time.

Tunks Park boat ramp is on Brothers Avenue, Cammeray. You should see our 10 colourful kayaks at the boat ramp, along with our friendly Guide, setting everything up.
