If you want to experience Sydney Harbour from a kayak, but you’re really not a morning person, our Sydney Harbour Kayak and Brunch Tour might be just what you’re looking for.
Wake up and head down to Lavender Bay, at a not-too-early start time and join our Kayak Guide on a private three hour paddle and sit-down brunch at Neutral Bays waterfront café, Thelma and Louise.
After your paddle briefing, you’ll be guided out of the bay, past Luna Park, under the Harbour Bridge and around towards Kirribilli point, passing the beautiful Sydney Opera House, where you can take some spectacular photos.
Once you’ve taken a few good photos and worked up an appetite, you’ll head to Thelma and Louise café for a tasty brunch and hot coffee. What better way to start the day!
The time advertised on the schedule is the time you are required to arrive at the boat ramp. You will then get ready and be out on the water once you’re briefed and ready with life-jackets on and kayaks set up.
Previous experience in a kayak is preferred as we will be paddling under the bridge, where there are a few boats and ferries. Our kayaks are really stable and you will be instructed and guided in a small group of paddlers, by a professional Kayak Guide, but it’s important to feel comfortable in a kayak. You will be taken through a safety briefing before departure and will be provided with all equipment needed for the paddle, including a single kayak with stable double keels and comfortable seats.
What’s included in the tour:
All equipment hire, including a single sit-inside Grifinn Kayak, paddle and life-jacket.
A dry bag for your phone, keys and camera. (This is a one way tour from Lavender Bay to Thelma and Louise, so please bring items with you).
A qualified, friendly and experienced Kayak Guide.
An exclusive tour for just the two of you, guided by an experienced Guide
Full safety briefing and kayak instruction prior to departure.
A sit down brunch at Thelma and Louise café in Neutral Bay.
Photos of the tour, including shots in front of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
What to bring/wear
Wear light, comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (from paddle splash).
Hat, sunglasses and long sleeves for sun protection, and a jacket/wind-breaker during cooler months.
You are likely to get wet from paddle splash, so bring spare clothes to change into.
A towel to dry off after the paddle.
Phone/camera, so you can take your own photos (our Guide
will take photos, too).
Current launch location is Lavender Bay boat ramp. Make sure you plan how you’re going to get to the boat ramp for the scheduled arrival time.
