Hall Of Fame! We Won Gold At The NSW Tourism Awards (Again!)

We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our paddling community.

Last week was a milestone moment for Sydney By Kayak. At the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards, we were awarded Gold in the Take 3 for the Sea Litter Prevention category for the third consecutive year.

Winning Gold is always a thrill, but this third win is extra special because it officially places Sydney By Kayak into the NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame. 

A Win for the Harbour (And "Take 3")

To say we are grateful feels too small.

While it’s our name on the trophy, this award is really about the mission we share with Take 3 for the Sea. They do such vital work in educating the world about plastic pollution, and to be recognised for our part in that mission means the world to us.

Every sunrise tour, every corporate clean-up, every bucket of rubbish we haul out of the water, and every conversation our guides have with a paddler has led to this moment. We are so proud to stand alongside them.

12 Years of Grit and Passion

This Hall of Fame induction feels like a reflection of our whole journey, not just one successful year.

For twelve years, we have poured our hearts into conservation on Sydney Harbour. It started with simple daily clean-ups from our kayaks, and has grown into mangrove planting projects in Berrys Bay, fundraising for Living Seawalls, and supporting local schools to get involved in protecting our waterways.

The NSW Tourism Awards have been a huge part of our business life since 2018. If you’ve ever entered awards like these, you know it takes true grit. It involves late nights, early mornings, and a lot of self-reflection to submit an entry. There are good days, and days where you feel like starting again from scratch!

But standing on that stage makes every one of those moments worth it.

A special shout-out to Ben and Garrick for representing us on the night. They delivered the most beautiful speech, thanking Take 3 personally, which meant so much to me.

And finally, thank you to our paddlers, our community, and everyone who has supported our small eco-tourism business over the years. Whether you’ve joined us for a Sunrise Kayak and Coffee, bought a gift voucher, or just picked up a piece of rubbish from the shoreline, you are part of this win.

We are so proud, so thankful, and ready for another year of keeping Sydney Harbour beautiful.
